Revision for Success

Please comment on how you have approached revising your narrative essay.  What changes have you made to prepare your essay for the final draft and assessment?  What considerations does the text address that you may not have considered previously?

  1. I always approach my revisions the same way because it seems to work for me. First, I read the whole thing with the edits and comments that were made. Second, I correct the edits. Third,I reread and make sure everything is coherent. Finally, I make any necessary changes to my final piece that I find do not flow correctly or that I simply don't like. To my final draft I have changed the conclusion to make it less rushe and flow better. Then I also fixed my grammar. The text suggested nothing that I have not already read or thought about doing for revising. I have tried a few other ways to revise and none of them work quite as well as my way.

  2. I find editing to be harder than the actually writing. I try to read it with and objective view of the essay, but struggle to keep from reciting it in my head as I am reading. So I try to break it down into sections, and look at each sentence for structure and grammar. Then make notes on what does not make sense or flow with the rest of the content. It may or may not work, I guess we will see when they are graded and returned.
